Wer benötigt zwingend einen LEI?
Gemäß EU-Richtlinien wie MiFID II/MiFIR benötigen alle juristischen Personen, die am Finanzmarkt handeln, einen LEI. Es gilt das Prinzip: „Kein LEI, kein Handel.“
Wie lange ist ein LEI gültig?
Ein LEI ist für einen festgelegten Zeitraum gültig und muss regelmäßig verlängert werden. Dies stellt sicher, dass die Daten der Einheit innerhalb der globalen Datenbank korrekt, aktuell und verifiziert bleiben. Wird die Verlängerung nicht vor dem Ablaufdatum durchgeführt, ändert sich der Status auf „Abgelaufen“ (Lapsed), was Ihre Fähigkeit zur Durchführung von Finanztransaktionen einschränken kann.
Welche Daten sind im LEI-Eintrag enthalten?
Der Datensatz enthält „Level 1“-Daten (wer ist wer, z. B. Name und Adresse) sowie „Level 2“-Daten (wer gehört wem), welche die Muttergesellschaften identifizieren.
Wie schnell erhalte ich einen LEI?
Sobald der Antrag eingereicht und die Zahlung bestätigt wurde, wird der Validierungsprozess üblicherweise innerhalb kurzer Zeit abgeschlossen. Die genaue Dauer hängt von der Richtigkeit der bereitgestellten Daten sowie der Bearbeitungsgeschwindigkeit der jeweiligen lokalen Register ab.
